How old does my child have to be to take a good imprint?

There are varying guidelines available on the internet in terms of how old your child should be to obtain a good imprint. I have had a brilliant imprint from a baby who was 10 days old with mum continuing to use the print for subsequent orders because of the excellent detail. With this in mind though, every child is different with every fingerprint being unique. I have had adults with great definition and some that are faint. To answer I would suggest, why wait, try taking the imprint and even if the detail is faint you will still have a lasting impression of that little finger before it grows, you may be surprised at the detail you do see!

Will I be able to take the print myself?

Our impression kit is very easy to use and should takes only a couple of mess free minutes to do. The print can even be done whilst your child is sleeping if you are worried that you have a wriggler! You will receive enough non toxic moulding putty to make at least 2 fingerprints – please return all of the prints you take as we will choose the best print to make your piece of jewellery. If you are ordering a charm with 2 or more children, you will be sent additional moulding putty to ensure you are able to take all of the prints needed. If there are any problems regarding your imprints you will be contacted and sent a further kit at no extra cost.

Is it possible to re-order using the same impressions/prints?

Yes. We only need one good impression per child and this can be used to make up additional items at any point in time. Your imprints will be kept on file for a year, so you can place additional orders at any time.

If your jewellery is pure silver why is it not hallmarked?

For your piece of mind and under current legislation, silver items that weigh less than 7.78 grams need not be hallmarked. Mini Prints charms, pendants and cufflinks weigh less than this and therefore need not be marked. Should you require your piece to be hallmarked please discuss this at the time of ordering. All findings are hallmarked .925 sterling silver whilst hand-crafted charms/pieces that are produced by Mini Prints are all fine silver .999.

How long will it take to receive my order?

All of our items are hand made individually to order. Mini Prints charms are made and returned to you within 14 days, but should you need your item within a shorter period, please ask as we have always been able to accommodate even the tightest timescale! Hand and Foot Prints, Love Notes and Art Imprints may require up to 3 weeks to produce as extra time is needed to complete the processes. Please bear in mind that it may take longer to produce items due to volume of orders received at busy times of the year. You will be given a delivery timescale at the time of ordering and contacted before delivery or collection is arranged to ensure your availability.

I would like a piece made but can’t see it listed on the website?

Please ask if you have a design in mind or need more than the average number of prints on your piece. Most of the pieces you see on the website are designed following customer requests. We have, to date, always been able to accommodate customer ideas and work with individual orders to meet if not exceed expectations.

How do I care for my Jewellery?

Mini Prints jewellery is made of pure fine silver and is individually hand-crafted. We suggest you use an impregnated silver polishing cloth, available from most jewellers. You can apply a small amount of silver cleaning balm, for a higher shine, if you wish. However, please take care not to polish too vigorously into the fingerprint, as this may result in a loss of detail.

What are your Payment Methods?

Payment for orders will be accepted in cash and guaranteed cheques or postal orders. Please note that although I can accept payment through PayPal, there is an additional 5% charge to cover commission.
